Supplementary Training Plan Overview
FTA also provides “Supplementary Training” for fire departments looking to diversify their regular training sessions on training nights and weekends. The overall objective of Fire Training Associates' “Supplementary Training Plan” is to supplement a Department’s typical training schedule and to bring a fast-paced hands-on approach to your department’s regular training sessions.
The first step of the training program is a detailed meeting with our instructional staff and your Department’s training committee to create a training plan and schedule that typically has FTA conducting 50% of your regular training nights/ weekends while your in house instructors focus on the other 50%.
The meeting will focus on your Department's future training goals, needs and wants in addition to giving our staff an idea of the Department’s training history and operational policies. This will help our staff to tailor classes to complement your Department's Standard Operating Procedures and goals.
Supplementary Training Plan Subjects include but are not limited to the following:
- Departmental Training Plan
- Basic Line Deployment
- Vent Enter Search (VES/VEIS)
- Calling a Mayday
- Basic SCBA Confidence
- Basic Forcible Entry
- Basic Searching
- Basic Rapid Intervention Team Operations
